Greetings AOM Members and Colleagues:

“Thank you so very much for the Qi-Unity Report. This e-publication is most valuable in keeping me abreast of what is happening in AOM, and I really appreciate your efforts in putting this document together.”

David M. Sale, JD, LLM
Executive Director
Council of Colleges of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine

We are very happy to write to you as we look back on the successful and memorable AAAOM “Transitions” Conference and Exposition. Gathering has a ritual quality embedded in its pragmatism, and we are grateful to each of you who attended the conference. Perhaps you were unable to make it to the events? Read all about it, either through our own conference wrap in the AAAOM section or through the AAAOM-SO retrospective.

The national lobbying effort to pass HR 646 is now underway “big-time,” and the letter writing campaigns are in full swing! Make sure you add your voice to this critical, time-sensitive effort—it has never been more important than now to become active on behalf of your profession! Download a sample letter (MS-Word) to send to your representative before May15! The letter, ideally, should be handwritten and signed. You can find the representative for your district by looking at www.house.gov and enter your zip code.

The diversity of the profession was honored and celebrated at the conference. As for diversity, imagine transitioning into AOM practice from a career as a Navy SEAL. The Qi-Unity Report interviews Robert Peterman about how his experience as a Navy SEAL informs and affects his current role as a practitioner. Also Frank Ervolino gives very timely advice on swine flu so you can keep your patients up-to-date on this critically important situation. Catch up on many profession-relevant links in the international and national sections that have been assembled for you over the past month. As our readership continues to grow and we hear positive feedback from our readers, we feel confident to say there’s really something for everyone in the Qi-Unity Report.

The AAAOM is interested in your feedback. We invite you to use our General Feedback page to let us know your opinions and insights.
