American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Launches New Website

June, 2009, marked the unveiling of the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine’s (ACTCM) new website at www.actcm.edu

The new website features an updated design and consists of over 1,100 pages dedicated to serving current students, alumni, clinic patients, prospective students, faculty, staff, media journalists and the general public.

Visitors to the site now have opportunities to learn about the health benefits & history of Chinese medicine, college and industry news, academic programs, classes and events, continuing education, making an appointment in the school’s Community Clinic, donating to the college, and much more.

In addition to the new website, current ACTCM students have access to a password-protected area of the website. This area provides students with access to class schedules, academic calendars, course descriptions, college news, upcoming events, housing, employment opportunities, downloadable forms, an online suggestions box, and news specific to each department.

The college is currently working on a second password-protected area where ACTCM’s 900+ alumni will be able to update their personal and business contact information and search an expanded alumni practitioner’s directory.

Future plans for the college’s website include integrating profiles of alumni and faculty, a campus and clinic virtual tour, streaming video and an online store for purchasing college-branded merchandise.

ACTCM’s website was created by Communications Director Rebecca Wilkowski, in conjunction with a graphic design and web development team. “One of our goals with the new website was to better serve our constituents by communicating with them in a more timely and effective way. We’re excited that the website now allows us to do this while reflecting both ACTCM’s brand and mission in a professional way. It is also a useful tool to educate the public and members of the press about Chinese medicine and its benefits. The website is a work in progress, so we’re looking forward to the implementation of additional features in the coming months. Personally, I’m satisfied to know that this tool will help the college reduce paper waste and bring us one step closer to our goal of becoming a more ‘green’ organization.”
